Opening of the "Women of Boca" Exhibition

This exhibition marks four decades since the experimental documentary "Mulheres da Boca" (1981) and unveils never-before-seen images from its filming in São Paulo's Boca do Lixo district. Restored photographs by Wagner Carvalho capture sex workers, their exploiters, and the daily life of a territory defined by prostitution, crime, and intense filmmaking. The show revisits this area as a space of artistic experimentation and feminist resistance, highlighting women and experiences often erased from history.
