Capital Class: 'Why See the Classics? Course on Reading, Debate, and Writing about Cinema'

This course offers technical literacy in the language of cinema, integrating classic film screenings, oral debate, and critical writing practice. Moving beyond traditional value judgments, the program explores the formal mechanisms of images and reflects on the contemporary relevance of eight seminal films, both national and international. Students will practice language analysis (e.g., shots, editing, sound, time), produce short essays, and engage in collective reading and feedback sessions.
