Brazilian Art History Course - Module 1

This course, "Brazilian Art History - Module 1," invites participants to explore how artists construct images of themselves and their worlds, using representation as a field for symbolic dispute, imagination, and memory. Focusing on the "Territórios da Arte" core exhibition at Pinacoteca, the classes articulate different historical periods and perspectives to reflect on identity, self-representation, visibility, and belonging in Brazilian art. The module features guest researchers and critics, offering readings of selected works, and is offered in a hybrid format, both in-person at Pina Luz auditorium and online.
